Our History
On July 17, 1881, two Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary arrived from Key West to open a two-room school house in a blacksmith shop on Zack Street in Tampa.

Academy's Elementary School lives out the school's mission through Jaguar P.R.I.D.E.--Positive attitude, Respectful behavior, Independent learning, Dedicated to safety, Engaged in learning.
High School
Educating Tomorrow's Leaders
Creating confident young women who are empowered and prepared to take on the next phase of their lives. Academy students and alumnae understand and appreciate our motto, Esse Quam Videri, or "To Be, Rather Than to Seem."

Holy Names Athletics
The Academy of the Holy Names strives to provide an athletic program that challenges each student-athlete to be the best that he or she can be, both on and off of his or her respective playing field.
