Studying Religious Culture Through Dance

Students in Mrs. Kimbler’s Dance Appreciation class recently completed a unit on religious dance. The class studied how Native American, Indian, African and Jewish cultures incorporate dance into their rituals.

Working in groups, the students selected music, choreographed a dance, and presented to the class the meaning and importance of dance to their chosen culture. They also incorporated costumes reflective of the culture.
