Sophomore Excels at Speech and Debate

Isabel B. A‘23 competed at the state level and placed 3rd in the American Legion Oratorical Contest in Orlando on Saturday. Her topic for the first round was of her choosing--freedom of speech responsibilities and not spreading misinformation. The second topic was assigned; she had three minutes to speak about Article 2, Section 3 of the Constitution. Isabel was awarded a $1450 scholarship for placing at the local to state levels. She was the youngest competitor and as the only underclassman in attendance, this was a huge accomplishment for her. Congratulations, Isabel!
