To Be, Rather Than to Seem

P.O.W.E.R Club Presents Black History Month Assembly

This morning, in an effort to embrace and celebrate every culture and ethnicity within our AHN community, the POWER Club partnered with their peers to host a Black History Month assembly. The students presented original spoken word, impersonated important historical figures from black history, and participated in recitations of famous speeches. They also honored Emily Pantelis (A’07) and Stacy Filocco as being community leaders and agents for change. Students and faculty were not only invited to celebrate during the assembly, but were also exposed to other aspects of black culture, including dance and music, during lunch performances throughout the week.
