Seniors Laura Caroline J. and Grace O. earned the recognition of National Merit Semifinalists, which is based on their performance on the PSAT. Semifinalists are made up of the highest-scoring program participants in each state, totaling 16,000 out of nearly 900,000 entrants across the country. Laura Caroline and Grace will continue in the pursuit of approximately 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $39 million that will be determined in the spring.
In addition, seniors Maeve M., Elise F. and Georgia H. performed very well on the PSAT and have been recognized as Commended Students in the National Merit Scholarship Program. About 34,000 of the 50,000 high scorers on the PSAT are named Commended Students.
Every fall, the Advanced Placement program recognizes high school students who have shown exceptional college-level achievement through their performance on multiple AP exams. The Academy is pleased to congratulate our 47 AP Scholars, 19 AP Scholars with Honor and 22 AP Scholars with Distinction. Congratulations also to the 17 juniors and seniors who were designated as College Board National Hispanic, Indigenous or African American Recognition Program Scholars.
