Mrs. Ens' high school art students welcomed special models today for a gesture drawing activity. Gesture drawing is not so much about the detail of the subject, but rather the essence of the subject. And what better models than ones that won’t sit still?! Drawing live chickens, Hen Solo and Alfredo, allowed students to focus on the feeling of the form and use their mark-making to capture the personality of the subject. Students experimented with charcoal, conté crayon and ink in their chicken gesture drawings. What an EGG-citing activity!
