AHN senior Megan H. was named to the Florida High School Athletic Association’s 26th Annual Florida Dairy Farmers Academic All-State Team. She is one of 12 girls selected from Florida who excel in both athletics and academics. Each Academic All-State Team member will receive a $1,700 scholarship and a commemorative medallion. Athletes were selected based on athletic participation, GPA, extracurricular activities, community service and essay. Megan has been an integral member of AHN’s cross country and track and field teams, and she served as executive director of Cross Out Cancer. She will attend the University of Notre Dame in the fall as a student-athlete for cross country and track. Out of the 24 All-State Team members, one male and one female will be named the Ronald N. Davis Scholar-Athletes of the Year, the FHSAA’s most prestigious honor bestowed on any active student-athlete. AHN alumnae Greta Dieck A’19 and Colleen Doherty A’15 were previous Athletes of the Year, and Stephanie Socias A’08 was named to the team in 2008.
