To Be, Rather Than to Seem

HS Students Hear From Vietnam Veterans

In recognition of Veteran's Day, our high school girls had the opportunity to hear from two Vietnam veterans, Mr. Stephen Katz and Mrs. Carolyn Riley.

Mr. Katz, a US Navy veteran, represents Honor Flight of West Coast Central Florida. This organization raises money to organize trips for veterans to travel to Washington D.C. to see the war memorials that were built in their honor. He spoke about his experiences meeting different veterans and how important it is to recognize the services they paid to our country.

Mrs. Carolyn Riley, also a US Navy veteran, spoke on her time station in Pensacola, and about how she was one of very few women in the military at the time. The girls walked away with a better appreciation for those who have served our country.

A special thank you from AHN to all of our veterans!
