As part of Computer Science Education Week, our high school computer science students visited pre-K, 1st-and 2nd-grade classes to help our younger students participate in the global movement, #HourOfCode. They worked together to code their own dance party, choosing their characters, songs and dance moves. We even had several groups show off their dances! At the end of Hour of Code, everyone earned an official certificate, and our Jaguars joined the millions of students in more that 180 countries who also completed an Hour of Code this week. This exercise demonstrated the simplicity and accessibility of code, as well as the benefits of creativity in the computer science field. Of course, everyone had a blast too!
