To Be, Rather Than to Seem

STEM: Designing Towers

Our 1st-graders became engineers in science. They designed and built towers using paper cups, rubber bands, tin foil, popsicle sticks and straws. The challenge was to make it as tall AND sturdy as possible. To test the stability of these towers, the teachers came through and acted as strong winds (shaking desks) to see if the towers could withstand the weather. Some collapsed and some stayed standing!
