To Be, Rather Than to Seem

Feature Friday: Introducing Ms. Allison Warren

You may have noticed a few new faces around the Elementary School this year! For the 2018-2019 school year, the Academy welcomed two new 2nd grade teachers. Today for our #FeatureFriday we introduce you to Ms. Allison Warren. Ms. Warren is an AHN alumna that we were excited to welcome back this year! Take a moment to get to know her and make sure you give her a warm AHN welcome if you spot her around campus!

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Tampa! I love Tampa because my entire family lives here, and we are all very close.

Where did you go to school? What was your favorite subject?

I went to AHN! I was in the Class of 2006! I loved science because it was very hands-on, especially in the High School.

Where did you go to college?

I went to the University of South Florida.

When did you know that you wanted to teach?

I did not always know that I wanted to teach. I started out as a nursing major. I started coaching a cheer team a at local high school and realized that I loved being around the school and the kids. So, I decided to become a teacher. I should’ve known because it is in my blood: my mom and brother are both teachers as well.

How has it been being back at AHN as an employee after being a student here?

It feels like home. A lot has changed, but at the same time, it all feels the same!

What do you like to do in your free time?

I love to spend time with my family! Currently, I am planning my wedding so that takes up a lot of my free time. 😊

What's a fun fact about you?

I am the youngest of three kids and the only girl!
