In religion, 4th grade students have been learning about the Exaltation of the Holy Cross which is celebrated on September 14. They wrote down the first word or feeling that came to mind when they saw a cross. Then, students discussed how this feast day changed the way we forever see this symbol. Though the cross is a sign of suffering, it has also become a sign of love, hope, salvation, and triumph over death.
