To Be, Rather Than to Seem

Catholic Schools Week: Learn, Serve, Lead, Succeed.

This week, Catholic schools around the country are celebrating Catholic Schools Week. This year's theme is, "Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed." As part of Catholic Schools Week, our high school students, faculty and staff volunteers will spend the day on Wednesday volunteering at more than 20 organizations throughout Tampa Bay. Students have the opportunity to serve at a number of different organizations including Feeding America, Trinity Cafe, Habitat for Humanity ReStore, Mary Help of Christians, Keeping Tampa Bay Beautiful and more. This day is an important one for the Academy as we take the time to reflect on the charism of the Sisters of the Holy Names and serve others.

Our elementary school students will participate in a variety of activities throughout this week including service projects, buddy activities and games. Today they spent the morning packing "Mercy Bags" for the homeless community in Tampa Bay. The bags included a variety of items such as snacks, tissues, hand sanitizer, water bottles and bandages. Their week will culminate with Grandparents' and Special Friends' Day on Friday. We hope that you will join us in celebrating our wonderful community.
