7th grade students watched their science and language arts curriculum come to life during their field trip to the Florida Keys! They snorkeled on the coral reefs, swam with dolphins, and dip-netted in the seagrass, reinforcing their knowledge of populations and ecosystems in science. While investigating the shoreline and visiting a sea turtle hospital, students recognized the impact of plastic pollution, which they studied through nonfiction texts in language arts. Our 7th graders embodied the 2022-2023 “To Be United” theme through team-building activities and spending quality time together. What a fabulous trip!
