Dual Enrollment
The Academy of the Holy Names offers dual enrollment through the University of Florida and the University of South Florida. Both programs give our students the opportunity to earn college credit through fully accredited four year universities. Upon successful completion of dual enrollment courses, students receive increased options for transferring earned credits to other four year institutions.
University of Florida
The University of Florida Dual Enrollment Program is an online program offered during fall and spring semesters. The University offers an array of courses to our students including core coursework as well as courses for enrichment. AHN assigns our students an independent study into their schedule to allow them time during the school day to take their UF course. Students are permitted to take a maximum of one UF course per semester.
University of South Florida
The University of South Florida Dual Enrollment Program allows our students to take freshman-and sophomore-level college courses in person on the USF campus during fall and spring semesters. Students may choose courses from the general USF course catalog for AHN approval. To avoid conflict with their AHN classes, students should enroll in USF courses scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. or later. Students are permitted to take one USF course per semester.
Students must meet the admissions criteria set forth by UF and USF for admission into the dual enrollment programs. Courses must be approved by the Academy of the Holy Names per our contract with both schools. Completed coursework and grades appear on the student’s AHN official transcript. For more information about these two programs, please contact the AHN Counseling Office.
