Annual Giving

Strong private school programs require a thoughtful investment from all stakeholders, and tuition alone does NOT cover the cost of educating each student. In fact, to keep our tuition affordable to as many families as possible, we budget at a $4,000 shortfall for each child. It is then our responsibility to turn to parents, alumni, grandparents, and community friends and ask them to help us make up that deficit. 

A significant increase in tuition would greatly impact the social and economic diversity of the school. This same diversity is what makes Academy unique and provides a wonderful environment for our students. As tuition increases, middle-income families are greatly impacted. Lower income families will qualify for financial aid. More affluent families will have less of an impact by tuition increases. For this reason, we count on your donations and support. A successful annual giving program is one of the ways that allows the school to achieve a student body that is diverse and multi-talented.

Every donation is important and will impact a student at the Academy of the Holy Names. No amount is too large or too small.

Annual Giving has been designed to afford an opportunity for our donors to pay their pledge on an annual basis anytime before the end of our fiscal year, June 30. Making your pledge known to us at the beginning of the year, allows us to plan for future opportunities. Installment giving provides a vehicle for each donor to maximize his or her gift by scheduling their contribution in small and more convenient increments.

Giving societies are a method or approach to securing a number of gifts at all levels. If our Annual Giving is to be successful, it must reflect the balance between leadership gifts and broad participation. Giving societies provide an opportunity for all donors to be recognized and acknowledged at the level of their generosity to Academy. 

The Blessed Marie Rose Society is a formal organization of lead benefactors to the Academy. Membership in the society is open to all individuals, companies, and foundations who have made a minimum annual gift of $2,000. Each year, members of The Blessed Marie Rose Society will be invited to a private reception in recognition of their leadership generosity.

Matching gifts are gifts that an employer will give annually to an educational institution or other non-profits as an employee benefit by matching the gift made by an employee on a 1:1, 2:1 or 3:1 basis. With Annual Giving, we will give full credit to the donor for any gift they make as well as any match their employer makes. In many cases, this can be a wonderful way to increase your gift to a higher gift society. For example, a gift of $250 from a donor matched by their employer on a 1:1 basis for an additional $250 will credit the donor with a $500 gift to the Academy. Simply ask your employer about their matching-gift program, forward the company form along with your gift and Academy will complete the process.

Academy of the Holy Names uses FACTS to assist in collecting and analyzing financial data submitted by families. 

In order to qualify for financial aid, a child must be accepted in the school and families must have submitted a financial aid application through FACTS. Need-based financial aid is a grant, not a loan, and is allocated on first-come, first-served basis to families.
