Our History
On July 17, 1881, two Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary arrived from Key West to open a two-room school house in a blacksmith shop on Zack Street in Tampa.

Creating confident young women who are empowered and prepared to take on the next phase of their lives. Academy students and alumnae understand and appreciate our motto, Esse Quam Videri, or "To Be, Rather Than to Seem."

The above list is used throughout the state of Florida. Students who enjoy reading and are interested in being on the 6^th-8^th grade Battle of the Books team for the 2022-2023 school year may want to get a head start on reading the books. Even if your child isn’t interested in being on the team, he/she might still enjoy these books over the summer!
