Middle School Faith in Action
In the Middle School, service projects are built into the curriculum, connecting to a class lesson or unit and putting into action the corporal works of mercy and care for creation. Age-appropriate activities are completed at school or off-site and fit with Jesus’ Gospel teachings or the core values of the Sisters of the Holy Names, such as packing supplemental food boxes at Feeding Tampa Bay, baking cookies with the elderly, or tending to plants at St. Pete Youth Farm. Middle school students and their parents are invited to participate in service opportunities after school hours..
Each grade hosts a donation drive throughout the year, supporting local non-profit agencies. Students in 8th grade organized a cereal drive and collected toiletries for youth in need of hygiene products, while 7th graders collected school supplies for children of migrant workers.
