Getting Ready to be Kindergarten Rock Stars!
Campers reinforce math and reading concepts learning the “whys” and the “hows” through instruction, fun small-group activities, and technology. Rising kindergarteners are guided through centers for both math and reading so they experience a variety of activities that expose them to the hands-on side of reading and math.
Math centers will focus on things like the process of counting by 1s and 10s, writing the numbers 1-20, beginning addition and subtraction, comparing numbers of items in groups, and more. Reading centers will include read-alouds, phonics work, and exposure to the concepts of print. Interactive crafts, songs, and activities will ensure that students are having fun. As campers’ skills grow, their confidence begins to blossom and so does their love of reading and math!
This camp will have the opportunity to swim on Friday if weather and time permits.
