AHN’s Rising Stars Soccer
Soccer isn’t the most popular sport in the world for nothing, so come on out and find out why! Develop your skills with Coach Kareem Escayg as he and his assistants share their passion and knowledge for the game of soccer.
The camp will focus on the following technical aspects of the game:
Please note that the proper footwork, movement and body positioning of each technical aspect will be demonstrated, taught and drilled. Campers will also have the opportunity to play scrimmage matches throughout the week, providing the opportunity to incorporate the technical skills learned each day of camp.
Coach Escayg has been coaching youth soccer since 2005, initially as a coach for Real Salt Lake Florida and more recently for the reorganized Tampa Bay United Soccer Club. Prior to the start of his coaching career, Kareem played collegiately at the University of Tampa. A four-year member of UT’s soccer program, he was a part of the University’s third national championship where he was named Tournament Most Valuable Player. Coach Escayg has been AHN's varsity soccer head coach since 2011. In 2016 and 2017, he led the Jaguars to consecutive district and region championships and to the State Final Four. In 2016, Coach Escayg was named the Tampa Bay Times Girls Soccer Coach of the Year.
Campers will take breaks away from the sun every 35-40 minutes. There will be an abundance of water on the field in an effort keep our campers hydrated. Campers of this session will also have the opportunity to utilize AHN’s pool; campers should bring a bathing suit and towel with them to camp each day.
