Elementary School
To Be a Lifelong Learner
The Academy's Elementary School serves boys and girls in pre-K through 8th grade. We believe that learning and education does not just occur inside our building. The Academy is a community based on a partnership between students, teachers, families and administration. As a community, we must work together and support each other to help our students become the conscientious thinkers that the 21st century demands.
In the pursuit of academic excellence, AHN challenges its graduates to be life-long learners who will serve others with integrity and compassion as stewards of the mission. The Academy is committed to educating 21st century students who are effective communicators and collaborators; globally aware, independent, confident and responsible learners and citizens; and critical and creative thinkers, innovators and problem solvers.
The Holy Names’ tradition nurtures and develops students’ personal gifts and prepares them to engage in the issues and challenges of their times as leaders. Four questions remain in the forefront as the school advances its mission: What do we want students to learn? How will we know when they learn it? How will we respond when students experience difficulty? How do we respond when a student is proficient?
