Getting Ready for Arts Fest!

Mrs. Abele's 4th grade art students are creating African tribal portraits of themselves, bringing together unique patterns of lines and shapes in varying thicknesses. Their project is based off of the work of famous Nigerian visual artist Laolu Senbanjo. Senbanjo has coined his style of art, Afromysterics, meaning mystery of the African thought pattern, as it incorporates African themes and traditions. He uses charcoal and distinct patterns to create complex, story-rich art.

HS Students Host Service Night

As part of an AP Government "Case Fire" project, AHN students were challenged to dive deeper into learning about the structure of government by making a tangible difference in an issue they are passionate about. The group of students who chose "food deserts" for their topic organized a service night at Feeding Tampa Bay in order to learn more about the effects of food deserts on Tampa Bay families and make a difference in our local community. The girls are also creating a campaign video to spread awareness about the issue.
