What does Camp Jaguar look like for my PK3/PK4 camper?
Rising Pre-K3 and Pre-K4*
Academy of the Holy Names has developed a summer program for older 3-and 4-year-olds that provides children a small taste of what a classroom setting may feel like, adding fun activities to go along with a weekly theme. Whereas the transition into a new preschool setting can take weeks for a young child, children will learn what circle time includes, how to make and treat new friends, sing songs, visit centers one might see within their future preschool classroom, get accustomed to a schedule, and create amazing crafts throughout each week that are sure to be a keepsake.
This camp ensures love, safety, creativity, and fun for each and every child. The half-day program is encouraged for new preschoolers, but we also offer a full-day which includes “lunch-bunch” and a full rest time. Let us help your child succeed in transitioning into their new preschool environment in time for the start of school.
On Monday of each week, full-day campers should bring a blanket or towel to rest on and any other item they like for rest time. The items will be sent home each Friday to be cleaned and returned for the next week.
*In order to attend camp at AHN, campers are required to be able to visit the bathroom without assistance from a camp counselor.*
CLUB JAGUAR (5th to 7th)
Welcome to Club Jaguar, a day camp experience tailored for pre-teens entering grades 5th through 7th! Immerse your child in a relaxed atmosphere where they can enjoy a diverse range of activities, including art, engaging indoor and outdoor games, and swimming sessions. We understand that tweens have a multitude of interests. That's why we foster exploration through designated independent time, allowing campers to bring in items they love.
Club Jaguar campers also get the chance to celebrate and appreciate the talents of their peers by attending performances and participating in various events organized by fellow camps. Each day, campers can bring one non-tech activity of their choice for indoor use during independent time. For those who enjoy a bit of screen time, daily access to school computers is provided. Phones are allowed during specified times, but they must remain in the classroom. (If you need to contact your child during the day, please call the school).
Join us at Club Jaguar for an unforgettable summer filled with creativity and exploration!

What do we bring for swimming?
Although we would like each child participating in Camp Jaguar to be prepared to enter the pool immediately when they arrive on campus, we know that this may not be possible. Ideally, and more specifically for the PK-3 and 4-year-olds, we would like the children to come to camp in their bathing suits with a cover-up and sunscreen already applied. Campers will all need a change of clothes, including undergarments. These items should be in a gallon zip-lock bag with the child’s name on the outside, especially the young ones (PK 3-4). All items, clothing, goggles and towels need to be labeled with your child’s name AND grade that they will be entering next year so we can return items to their owner if they are lost.
Full-day Camp Jaguar participants will be in the pool once a day. Please bring the following items each day if your camper is not dressed and ready to jump in the pool:
- Swim suit
- Towel
- Goggles
- Sunscreen (and lots of it)! Typically we will keep sunscreen at camp for the week, labeled with your child’s name, so that we are sure he/she is properly protected.
- Change of clothes
- If your child has floaties or any type of assisted swim device, please have him/her bring that on the first day of camp. We can keep that device in the classroom for the week.
Do you have a waitlist for full camps?
The Academy is offering waitlists for Summer on Bayshore. If selected for a waitlisted spot, you will be contacted directly via email or phone. If you are already registered for a camp and would like to switch with the open opportunity, funds already paid are eligible to be transferred. Any remaining balance must be paid at the time of transfer or you forfeit the spot.
What if my camper has medical needs at camp?
Summer on Bayshore has a registered nurse on staff during camp hours. When completing your registration please provide all details about your camper’s medical history for us to best help your camper in the event of a medical episode or emergency.
The following medical forms should be completed based on your child’s needs:
- Medical Immunization Form (provided by your physician)
- Allergy Action Plan (intended for those with a serious allergy requiring an epi-pen)
- Authorization of Prescription Medication
