Lower School Celebrates a Meaningful Rose Week

Lower School Celebrates a Meaningful Rose Week
The Academy of the Holy Names celebrated Rose Week, honoring Blessed Marie Rose Durocher and the Sisters of the Holy Names through a week of faith, creativity, and gratitude.

In the Lower School, students created their own beautiful Blessed Marie Rose wreaths, each one a reflection of their creativity and devotion. Watching their projects come to life was a joyful reminder of the vibrant spirit that Blessed Marie Rose continues to inspire within our AHN community.

Throughout the week, students and teachers also gathered in the Chapel, where several AHN alumnae and faculty members shared their personal connections to the Sisters and the Academy. Mrs. Ali Warren Almendares ’06, Mrs. Denise Mobley Cebollero (parent of alumna ’24), and Mrs. Miranda Lopez Miller ’14 spoke about how the Sisters’ mission shaped their lives and continues to guide their work today. Their stories beautifully reflected the enduring values of faith, learning, and service that define the Academy experience.

As Mrs. Jennifer Epps ’84, Mission and Ministry Charism Ambassador, shared, “There’s something so powerful about passing down this legacy to the next generation, and I’m grateful to be part of that process.”

It was truly a special week of reflection, connection, and joy as our Lower School honored the heritage of the Sisters of the Holy Names and the lasting impact of Blessed Marie Rose.
