High School Students Step Out to Celebrate Excellence
At the Academy of the Holy Names, we’re constantly inspired by the extraordinary accomplishments of our students, and recently, there’s been no shortage of impressive achievements. To mark the culmination of an exciting few weeks of worldwide recognition, we came together for a special Step Out celebration in the high school.
Students, faculty, and staff gathered to honor the exceptional accomplishments of our Jaguars. From robotics to athletics to community service, our students continue to shine.
Highlights include:
- Jagwires Robotics Team, who earned an impressive 3rd place in the Western Florida Division this season.
- Faith in Action Trip Participants, with 58 students traveling to Washington, DC, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, and Plant City to make a meaningful impact.
- ThreePeat Swim & Dive Team, who claimed their third consecutive State 2A Championship in 2024.
These achievements reflect the diversity of excellence at AHN and the dedication of students who are committed to growing in mind, heart, and spirit. The day also provided an opportunity to thank the incredible individuals who accompanied our students on their journeys:
- March for Life in DC: Reagan Franklin and her husband, Alex, Lissette Perera '96, P'28, Fr. Christian Galvan, and faculty members
- Dominican Republic: Reina Borjas and her husband, Rigoberto, Sofia Curry, and Dan Matthews
- Guatemala: Sr. Lisa, Lindsay Belush, Tito Padilla, and Nazrine Beasley P'28
- Plant City: Taryn Kendig, Jill Phillips, Jay Kubiak, and Megan Dubee
Additionally, we proudly recognized senior Sophia Hoofnagle, who earned one of only six spots in the prestigious Florida State University Animation program—a coveted acceptance recognizing her incredible talent and determination.
The Step Out celebration was a perfect reminder of the countless ways our students grow and excel. At AHN, we are honored to support each child as they strive to reach their fullest potential. Go Jags!
