AHN Hosts High School Open House for Future Jaguars
On November 3, 2024, the Academy of the Holy Names welcomed prospective students and their families for the 2024 High School Open House, an event that offered a glimpse into the vibrant community and strong values defining the all-girls education for grades 9 through 12. Families experienced firsthand the Academy's commitment to faith, excellence, and personal growth.
The day kicked off with a performance by the Quarter Notes, AHN’s vocal ensemble. President Kevin P. Whitney then delivered a welcome address that highlighted the Academy’s mission and educational philosophy.
Attendees heard speeches from two Academy students—freshman Paula Medina-Ortega and senior Rowan Alexander—who each shared their personal journeys and the profound impact of an AHN education. Erin Fogle ’10, Director of High School Admissions, reflected on her own transformative experience as a student and the lasting influence of an Academy education on her life.
Following the welcome, prospective students and their families were divided into student-led tour groups that offered a comprehensive look at the Academy’s programs and facilities. Key tour stops included an academic overview with Principal Jeane McNamara and Assistant Principal for Academic Leadership Dr. Dobrin, who highlighted the rigorous and supportive educational environment. Department chairs were available at various stops to introduce each academic discipline and provide insights into the curriculum.
Guests also learned about the Guidance and College Counseling Department, Mission & Ministry, the Arts, Athletics, and Co-Curriculars, each area showcasing the well-rounded opportunities available to students.
