Middle School Athletes Shine in a Season Full of Triumphs

Our middle school fall athletics teams had spectacular seasons filled with remarkable achievements and thrilling victories. From boys soccer to cross country and volleyball, these dedicated student-athletes have made the school community proud!

Boys Soccer (Coach: Ricky Aleong)

Under the guidance of Coach Ricky Aleong, the boys soccer team achieved an impressive record of 6-3. They had outstanding season sweeps over tough competitors like Tampa Prep and St. John's Episcopal. Their remarkable journey continued as they defeated Corbett Prep 5-3 in the FWCL Semifinals, securing their place as the FWCL Runner-Up.

Boys & Girls Cross Country (Coach: Mike Doyle)

The cross country teams, both boys and girls, showed their prowess throughout the season. The girls dominated by winning four out of the five FWCL Meets, while the boys secured three out of five. These combined efforts led to the crowning of both the boys and girls teams as the overall FWCL Champions! Additionally, three standout individuals, Luca C., Matthew G., and Bexley M., qualified for the Florida Youth Running Association (FLYRA) State Cross Country Meet. Bexley showcased her talent with a 40th place finish out of 166 participants, followed by Matthew's 81st place and Luca's 100th place finishes out of 185.

JV Volleyball (Coach: Sarah Taylor)

The JV volleyball team secured a commendable record of 9-3. Their teamwork and dedication paid off as they showcased their skills on the court.

Varsity Volleyball (Coach: Randy Thomas)

The varsity volleyball team, led by Coach Randy Thomas, had a fantastic season with a matching record of 9-3. They achieved impressive season sweeps over rivals like Berkeley, Carrollwood Day School, and St. John's Episcopal. The journey culminated in a thrilling victory as they defeated Berkeley 2-0 in the FWCL Semifinals, followed by an even more intense showdown against Tampa Prep in the FWCL Championship Game, securing a 2-1 victory!

Our middle school athletes have demonstrated their unwavering commitment, resilience, and sportsmanship throughout the season. We look forward to celebrating more successes in the seasons to come as these young athletes continue to excel both on and off the field. Congratulations to all the athletes and coaches on a remarkable season!
