AHN Hosts Special Screening of Cabrini on Dec. 11 at 6:00 pm

AHN is proud to host a special screening of the highly acclaimed film Cabrini on December 11 at 6:00 pm in the Bailey Family Center for the Arts. Join us for this inspiring biographical film that chronicles the life of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, the first American saint, whose legacy of courage, compassion, and service to others continues to resonate today.

As a school founded and guided by the mission of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary, AHN is deeply connected to the themes exemplified by St. Frances Cabrini’s life. Her dedication to faith, education, and service to immigrant communities echo the Academy’s commitment to fostering spiritual growth, promoting justice, and cultivating a sense of global responsibility among its students.

“Retelling Mother Cabrini’s life through cinematography brings to life a story that parallels a multitude of Catholic women who founded and joined religious orders—including the Sisters of the Holy Names—in service to the needs of immigrants through the mid 19th and early 20th century,” said Sister Lisa Perkowski, IHM. “Her journey of transforming challenges into opportunities to serve others aligns beautifully with the SNJM charism, which calls us to act for justice and empower the marginalized.”

Rich Van Fossen, Jr., a member of the film’s production team, will be on site to introduce the film and available at the conclusion for a brief discussion about how St. Cabrini’s legacy can inspire us to live out our Catholic values in today’s world.

This event is open to our students, families, and public community members. There is no cost for a ticket and seating is limited. Click here to RSVP and reserve your ticket(s). Tickets will be available for pick up at Will Call one hour before the show. Seating is first-come, first-served. Doors open 30 minutes prior to show.

About Cabrini

From Alejandro Monteverde, award-winning director of Sound of Freedom, comes the powerful epic of Francesca Cabrini, an Italian immigrant who arrives in New York City in 1889 and is greeted by disease, crime, and impoverished children. Cabrini sets off on a daring mission to convince the hostile mayor to secure housing and healthcare for society's most vulnerable. With broken English and poor health, Cabrini uses her entrepreneurial mind to build an empire of hope unlike anything the world had ever seen.
