Our History
On July 17, 1881, two Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary arrived from Key West to open a two-room school house in a blacksmith shop on Zack Street in Tampa.

Creating confident young women who are empowered and prepared to take on the next phase of their lives. Academy students and alumnae understand and appreciate our motto, Esse Quam Videri, or "To Be, Rather Than to Seem."

The Academy of the Holy Names strives to provide an athletic program that challenges each student-athlete to be the best that he or she can be, both on and off of his or her respective playing field.

Bailey Family Center for the Arts Construction

The exterior walls have finished going up at the Bailey Family Center for the Arts. Using tilt-wall construction, the walls were pre-fabricated on site and a crane lifted them in place. The exterior detail and bricks are already molded and put in place.
