Apply to Lower School (Grades K-4)

Applications for the 2026–27 school year are now open! For your convenience, all applications are completed and submitted through an online admissions portal.

Please note that spaces in the Lower School (grades K–4 ) are limited, as these are not typical entry points to the Academy.

However, spots do occasionally become available, and we warmly welcome families to apply. If you are considering applying and would like more information regarding the admissions process for grades K-4, please call Casey Kiser at 813-839-5371 x373. 

To be considered for a potential spot in grades K-4, please complete the online application and submit the non-refundable $75 application fee through the admissions portal.

Although not required, we invite you to discover our campus firsthand through a group tour specifically designed for families exploring entry into grades K–4.

Led by our Director of Lower School Admissions Casey Kiser, this small-group experience offers an overview of what the Academy has to offer, an opportunity to observe classrooms in session, and time to ask questions.

As part of our application, we ask that applicants provide a few key documents to help us better understand their academic and personal achievements.

• Report cards. These documents provide a comprehensive view of your academic progress and achievements over time.
• Standardized test scores from the past two years. These scores give us insight into your academic aptitude and potential, helping us ensure that our program is the right fit for your child's educational journey.
• Teacher recommendations. These insights from educators who know you best offer valuable perspectives on your strengths, areas of growth, and overall character. Teacher recommendations should be submitted after the first 9 weeks of school have transpired. Specific dates and deadlines are provided in the applicant checklist.

Note: If you are a Kindergarten applicant and applying to multiple schools, we accept the BAAIS Pre-K & K School Recommendation Form. 

We encourage families to apply for our financial aid program. We strive to partner with families to ensure that an Academy education is accessible to all qualified students.

Admissions and financial aid processes are independent of each other. The Academy of the Holy Names uses FACTS to assist in collecting and analyzing financial data submitted by families.

In order to qualify for financial aid, you must also apply for Florida Tax Credit Scholarship (Step Up for Students), and submit a financial aid application through FACTS by December 1. Need-based financial aid is a grant, not a loan.

Note: While we will review financial aid applications submitted after December 1, please note that priority consideration is given to applications received by the deadline.

As part of the admissions process, a screening (Kindergarten) or entrance exam (grades 1-4) is required for each applicant. 

• Kindergarten screenings will take place in February. The screening date and time will be assigned by the admissions office and communicated in January. In order to attend your assigned screening, you must have all required items from your application checklist complete.
• The 1st grade through 4th grade entrance exam takes place February 7. In order to participate in the entrance exam, you must have all required items from your application checklist complete.

Admissions decisions will be notified by the beginning of March.
