Welcome from the Admissions Director

Greetings from the Admissions Office! I appreciate your interest and consideration of the Academy of the Holy Names for your child’s education.

Families in the Tampa Bay area are fortunate to have many strong educational choices, and we look forward to working with you as you explore your options. Our admissions process is designed to educate prospective families about the unique advantages of the AHN experience and to assist you in making the best decision for your child’s education. As a part of our admissions process, we seek to not simply qualify a student by a test score, although metrics are an important part of the process. Instead, we strive to get to know our applicants as individuals with unique characteristics, strengths and interests. Building a well-rounded and talented student body creates an environment where education does not end when the bell rings. At the Academy of the Holy Names, we work each day to ensure that our students develop through a vibrant and dynamic educational experience.

The Academy is an independent, Catholic, coeducational elementary school and college preparatory high school for young women, sponsored by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. The school was established in 1881 and has an enrollment of over 900 students in grades pre-Kindergarten through 12. We welcome students of all faiths who seek an education enhanced with a commitment to serve others.

As you search for the best school for your child, we believe that the breadth and depth of the spiritual, academic, athletic and artistic programs offered at the Academy will distinguish us from other schools.

I look forward to meeting you soon.
