Curriculum
Pre-K
Our Pre-Kindergarten program prioritizes holistic development, encouraging independence, social skills, and a sense of community. By incorporating the five puzzle pieces of spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development, we aim to nurture well-rounded students who are curious learners. Our inclusive classroom celebrates diversity and teaches respect, empathy, and cooperation.
Grades K-1
Fundamental subjects and specialized electives lay the groundwork for a well-rounded education that nurtures students' diverse interests and talents. At the core of our mission, we are dedicated to instilling respect for others and promoting unity and a commitment to service at a young age.
Grades 2-4
An AHN education goes beyond core subjects, prioritizing character development and spiritual growth to prepare students for middle school. We focus on critical thinking, organization, study skills, and leadership, using the Responsive Classroom philosophy to navigate social interactions effectively, resolve conflicts peacefully, and demonstrate empathy and compassion in their interactions with others.
Lower School Curriculum
We aim for our students to live virtuously by learning about the Catholic faith, celebrating Mass and the sacraments, choosing to show love & respect, praying every day, and sharing their faith with others.
Our language arts program is designed to cultivate a lifelong love of reading and writing in students, fostering their growth as active learners.
Our mathematics program employs interactive lessons that encourage active student engagement, exploration, explanation, elaboration, and evaluation.
Students learn Earth, Life and Physical science through active multisensory investigations to develop their ability to think scientifically.
The social studies curriculum is thoughtfully crafted to foster children's understanding of their connection to the world and their capacity to make a meaningful impact.

Starting in Pre-K, we offer each student an avenue of learning that allows them to focus on mastery of language skills through listening, speaking, reading, writing, and presenting, to communicate effectively in the target language and instill cultural awareness.
Students engage in a diverse range of activities aimed at developing their locomotion skills, introductory sports abilities, fitness levels, teamwork, cooperation, and knowledge of sports safety and rules.
Weekly visits to the media center expose our students to a wide range of stories from diverse genres, while also teaching them how to independently choose books to borrow for their personal enjoyment.
