Each Small Learning Community will contain
studios of various sizes, as well as smaller group
study and seminar spaces gathered around a
central Learning Commons. This commons will
provide work space for self-directed students to
work independently onprojects or collaborate in
teams. The Learning Commons is an agile space
that is capable of rapid adaptation based on the
needs of the teachers and their students.
The new Middle School will have its own
science labs and STEM/Maker Labs. The central
common spaceon eachfloorwill contain student
lounges, a “Tech” bar for computer support
services and administrative offices.
The“InnovationLab”PilotProjecton thesecond
floor is scheduled for the summer of 2014. This
spacewill eventually become the location for the
Middle School library/GLC.
