Weekly eNews: November 2nd, 2017

Dear FIRSTNAME,

Over the course of the year, we have had an increase in complaints about traffic during both drop-off and pick-up. As a result, the Academy is hiring an independent consultant to conduct a traffic study. When we learn those results, we will share recommendations with you. As a community, we have to work to make pick-up as efficient as possible. For now, please remember to not use your cell phone in the car line and encourage your students to proceed to their cars as quickly and safely as possible.

Sincerely,

Art Raimo

AHN News

With Sincerest Sympathy

We are sad to share that Dr. Harry Purpur, AHN's interim president from July 2009-June 2011, passed away on Sunday following a battle with cancer that was further complicated by a congenital heart issue. Dr. Purpur dedicated his life to Catholic education having served as a teacher, principal and superintendent in Washington state, California and Florida. He was a faith-filled man, a peacemaker and a true model of Christian values. There was a special place in his heart for the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary and the Academy of the Holy Names Community in Tampa. He will be missed by many.

High School Open House

On Sunday, November 5th, we will hold our High School Open House at 12:00 noon. This is our chance to showcase our school to the potential members of the Class of 2021. If you know an 8th-grader who wants to be a leader in the classroom, a captain on the athletic field, a star of a musical, a computer guru, grow in her faith, or become the best version of herself, please encourage her to attend with her parents. After all, nobody can share how special the Academy is more than our students and parents.
