Tennis Team Places 4th at States

AHN’s tennis team capped off its season with the same fight that propelled them to the state finals. Dani Nasser (#1 spot) and Caroline Lozo (#2 spot) each battled in finals action and earned the distinction of individual runner-up. The duo competed in the doubles final where they also earned the distinction of runners-up. Along with their teammates, Dani and Caroline helped propel AHN to a 4th-place finish in the FHSAA’s 2A tennis classification.

Track Team Preparing for States

The track team captured the 2A-Region 3 runner-up trophy at the regional meet and earned berths in the State Track Finals in the 4 x 400 (set a new school record) and 4 x800 relay events. Individually, qualifiers include Ryann McEnany and Claire Snyder. The team is having a phenomenal season; the following girls will be representing the Academy at states: Gillian Anthony, Colleen Doherty, Natalie Hahn, Siobhan Lynch, Melissa Mainzer, Ryann McEnany, Becca Patterson, Claire Snyder and Haley Ratchford.

Softball Competing in Regional Quarterfinal

Last week the softball team captured its third-consecutive district championship heart-pounding fashion, defeating rival Tampa Catholic 12-9 in extra innings. The softball team takes on DeSoto County High School in the regional quarterfinal Thursday, April 25th. If they win, they head to the regional semifinal game Tuesday, April 30th.
